What is meant by portable wi-fi hotspot in Android devices?
We all know that we can connect internet connection in our android mobile to any wireless modem or landline modem through our wi-fi connection. But do you know we can connect our wi-fi to our nearest Android mobile through portable wi-fi hot spot?
How to enable portable wi-fi hotspot?
First of all, we have to understand that portable wi-fi hotspot means one Android device is sharing its wireless connection with other Android devices. Here are some basic tips,
1. To share your internet connection with other devices, mobile data service must be enabled in your device.
2. How to enable internet connection?
1. First go to settings in your mobile
2. after that, go to wireless and network settings
3. Then go to mobile networks
4. After that you have to enable your mobile data
5. Now you have activated your mobile data connection in your mobile.
6. Now, again go to settings in your mobile & select wireless and networks settings.
7. After that, go to tethering and portable wi-fi hotspot settings.
8. Now you will see a screen like this
9. Now click on portable wi-fi hotspot and portable wi-fi hotspot will be activated.
10. Also you can manage your portable wi-fi hotspot settings by clicking its settings
11.After that you will see a screen like this,
12. You may also specify your connection whether to be open or secure like we do for the wireless broadband connections.
If you want to have your connection open, select open and save it as shown in figure
If you want to have secured connection , just click on WPA2 PSK or other security option. Then set your own password and save it as shown in the below figure
13. Now your device is ready to share its internet connection with other android devices (Not only to Android, you can share your internet connection to any wi-fi compatible device)
14. Now the persons willing to connect their wi-fi to your device must enable their wi-fi connection and search for wi-fi connections.
15. Now they can see your hotspot’s network ID like it is shown in the above figure as “AndroidAP7673”.
16. Now if your network is open, they can connect to it by simply selecting the connect option and if it requires the password, they have to type the password and get their device connected.
17. That’s all friends, now your device is successfully connected to internet via Android device
